Re: jump on hurts for 4.5.6

This is actually an easy change to make. Just go to the Handle Player Hurt script and comment or delete destroyObject and add the JSR like below. Now I'm trying to figure out where to put the vulnerability bit check for it. ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; Presumes there is a variable called myLives defined in us...

Re: Holding Item Possible?

It's definitely possible to do stuff like this. You might start by thinking about what they talk about in this thread: http://www.nesmakers.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=5648 I would probably just try to make it so my animations "simulate" it. Like you could have an action state with a unique tile where ...

Re: 4.5.6 Inertia not quite right

Below is the code for oStartMovingInADirection, which gets JSR in the StartMoving macro. It has this comment, which is the exact behavior that I want. I'm gonna poke around here, but it's definitely just poking around. STA temp ;; temp now blanks out the direction that the object is moving, either h...

Re: Having difficulty finding Diagonal movement scripts for 4.5

Thank you for looking into this. Hopefully a solution can be found soon. I'm pretty lost tbh. I have a few threads on things that are different in the scripts/engine. I really like so many of the features of 4.5.6 but there are so many basic changes that make small modifications completely differen...

Re: Having difficulty finding Diagonal movement scripts for 4.5

Can someone please point me in the right direction? I'm not looking for anything fancy like adding diagonal movement sprites, I would just like more intuitive and fluid movement for the character. I see a few scripts for 4.1 but will those work in 4.5/4.6? There's gotta be a way, but it's not gonna...

4.5.6 Inertia not quite right

Anyone notice that when you have a low acceleration speed, your acceleration completely inverts when you change direction? so you don't have to slow down first and you just maintain the same speed you had before you turned around. This doesn't give you the feeling of inertia. I loaded my 4.1.5 proje...

Easy Castlevania axe throwing arc

Posting for newbies like me. This is basic stuff but it can help you learn that you can use ai behaviors on any object, including your weapon...and the castlevania axe is just a good game mechanic. Just put the monster jump code into AI behaviors, then assign it as a behavior to your projectile. 1. ...

Re: Moving (bouncing) platform- Ver. 4.1.5

whoa, I've been on and off trying to get something like this for a while now. I've ended up accidentally inventing all kinds of other behaviors. I did manage to come up with something sorta similar but it's not nearly as tight as this. thanks for posting.
