My suggestions:
-auto format button in script editor
-a quick way to set variables in objects Properties i.e. defeating specific monster causes either a custom script to run, or just sets a flag for specific variable

In object actions theres an ignore top collision flag. I only just discovered it last week lol... meanwhile I was trying to do it in code and having no luck

Platformer as well. I noticed though, that in the overworld, it only happens it you have solid tiles on the right hand side of the screen, whereas on the underworld it happens regardless.

My temporary solution was just to use warp tiles at the edge of the screen

I would say if you can, start with easy 6502 to get acquainted, but an excellent primer I found is the one chronosv whipped up on YouTube. Just type in chronosv nesmaker asm tutorial.

Thing is, you'll start to pick things up here and there by making small tweaks and what not, but it's also good to get a grasp on game logic.. Comments are a life saver so definitely read Joe's comments on his code. I know the first script I wrote, a friend started the ground work for me and comment...

No rush or anything, but if you figure something out.. this is a pretty big game breaker, and I know I kinda have to consciously not hug the wall when jumping up, or even sometimes going down.
