Re: Underground Adventure (BYTE-OFF-2019)

Oh, this soundtrack.... I'm a sucker for square leads and these are thick and juicy. Lots of atmosphere conveyed. Cuttercross' atmospheric soundtrack is the cherry on top, which is always a pleasure to listen to. I'll take that as a compliment :D Haha Yeah, I really wanted to give this game a more ...

Re: Underground Adventure (BYTE-OFF-2019)

This was a fun project to work on! You're welcome for the soundtrack Dale :D Glad to help you out with your entry (especially since I had to take a long break from mine and couldn't get something playable on time). The game itself is really nice and polished, with a couple really unexpected mechanic...

Re: How to breach the color limit

While it's true you can get 6 colors per object by using both palettes, you're confined to keeping each palette's 3 colors in 8x8 pixel color cells. (Each individual sprite can only use 1 color palette). So in some cases (like mine) using some extra "advanced voodoo" to layer an additional sprite re...

Re: The Tower of Turmoil

There's nothing more rewarding yet satisfying than seeing a NES game that you've created, running on actual hardware, on an old CRT. Man it's beautiful. Also the NES' mono-mixing of your music and sfx make them sound even better coming out of that little TV. Sweet!! So, so true :D it's a sight to b...

can somebody explain how the fudge did you make that cutscene?
I've made a whole video showing how I made the cutscenes for another game of mine, The Tower of Turmoil.

This game pretty much uses those same techniques, but with scrolling involved.

Re: When the Clock Hands Stall

the chrono trigger clock simulator for nes. Im in! :P just kidding, this looks really cool, but it really also works as a teaser, because the screen practically gives no indication whatsoever of what kind of game it is or what is it about. as for the fades, i've started looking into that but im not...
