Re: A True Coding-Free Solution!

I've actually used something like this in an IT class before. Good way to teach general coding logic, though wether people want to learn to code using NESmaker I don't know. Maybe it would help someone make that one unique feature in their game, so I say good luck. But I don't see it being a widely ...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

So where is the list of the real RGB values of the NES color pallet? Like I saw a list on page one, but someone said it was wrong?!?!?!? I'm not sure you understand, there are no 'real' RGB values. The NES outputs an encoded composite signal that has to be translated back into RGB by the display. T...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

Yeah, when 4.1 hits maybe we'll move it then and post to the Facebook group to let people know where to go for some palettes for the new feature that the team will (hopefully) be showing off. I think I'll try to let one of the team know what we've done here in case this would be helpfull to show peo...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

Cool, I think the help section of 4.1 might be good. But it's mainly people asking for help with issues, rather than somewhere people go to look for things to use. What do you think about the 'Tips & Tricks' - 'Code' section? I'm not really active on the forum so maybe that's a bad idea. And yeah, I...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

I've been thinking about moving this topic to another section, it doesn't really belong here. If there's a way to move just say a better section and I'll move it. By the way, did you get a chance to check the values I posted on the previous page?

Re: Colour Palette Tool

Nintendo's "PlayChoice-10" I highly recommend you do NOT use this palette, unless you know what you are doing. For those who don't know, the NES and its 2C02 PPU can only output composite video, which is why so many RGB palettes are available (as they are all different interpretations of the palett...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

Nakedarthur's "Wavebeam" This is my personal favourite palette. A perfect middle ground between 'accurate' but dull palettes like FirebrandX's 'Smooth' or 'Composite Direct', and the garish and fake looking emulator palettes like 'FCEUX 2.2.3'. <PaletteColors> <PaletteColor offset="00" red="107" gr...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

OK, so I've fixed the tool (and added some features) and updated the original post. I made sure there were no mistakes in the tool this time. While I think The Mesen method is probably better (think I might use it too), some people might find my tool helpful. Now it's working and I've got time, I'll...

Re: Colour Palette Tool

Damn OK, I've edited the Smooth palette with the values you provided. When I get back I'll make a new version of the tool. I haven't really looked, but im sure other people have made similar ROM's. What have you been using? Thanks for helping me by the way :)

Re: Colour Palette Tool

FirebrandX "Smooth" OK, here's Smooth put into this format, one thing I noticed is that 34 & 35 are the same. This may be because this palette does have the same RGB values for those colours, or it's because I made a mistake in my ColourTest tool. I double checked when I was colour picking that the...
