button sequences and "double tapping". Where to begin?

I know there's a thread on this, but it has no info and it's archived. NESMaker has been around longer now, so does anyone know how to do this? You know, double tap left to dash, or do fighting game style moves? For double tapping, I think the logic might look like this: Assign the input script to a...

Re: Help to comment this jump code so I can better understand object movement

thanks! I've used what I've learned here to make a dash because for whatever reason, the one from chronicleroflegend's thread wasn't working, though the one I've made is very similar.

Re: Help to comment this jump code so I can better understand object movement

Thank you very much. So the part that is checking for jump through platforms...is the ADC #$09 basically just teleporting the character down to a position that is 9 (pixels?) below their current position.

Re: Monster Won't Move (Getting Started 6)

Is the script assigned to the AI behavior? I have a different script there, but for you, RandomMovement4.asm (I think) should be there. Capture.PNG ;;;; Choose out of 4 directions, UDLR. JSR GetRandomDirection AND #%00000110 TAY LDA DirectionMovementTable,y STA temp TYA ;; the 0-7 value for directio...

Help to comment this jump code so I can better understand object movement

I'm slowly learning, I've managed a pretty robust control scheme and I'm getting by. Most of the asm I've learned and actually been able to put to use involves input scripts that check for different conditions (button presses, physics byte, flags, etc.). I've dabbled in collision code but it's prett...

Re: Megaman Style slide/dash code issue

I assigned this script to Left and Right presses, but I don't have any results. I wonder if something in the extra control read script could be interfering, or maybe my regular left and right presses are overtaking it? What exactly is happening in the slideRight and slideLeft labels? Is it adding an...

Re: Different sizes for individual frames?

There exists a thread on swapping out objects. I put the code from that thread in a tile and it works great. When I was testing it, I had it bound to a button press, it was easy to do. With the right settings, I bet it would work great as an attack state. I'm considering using it to make a backdash ...

Re: Moving Platform Objects

Has anyone had success making a "solid behavior" action step flag out of the jump on code, or using anything shown here? I've been messing with this code and have had all kinds of interesting behaviors, just not what i'm after. You could use what's shown here to make a tractor beam!

Re: Archetype: Perseus

I like the new character sprite, can you post a video of him moving? No problem. He needs a little work. I'm gonna scoot the head dress back a little to more closely resemble sculptures of the mythical heroes instead of Spartans. Also gonna work on the color pallet and de-goof the animation a littl...

Re: Mark of the Beast
