I love this project! Just as an FYI if you are using the Pixel editor, and are working with your tiles, if you select a region and hit "h" or "v" it will flip that selected area vertically or horizontally.

Thanks! That's a trick I was not aware of, and has since come in very handy!

I spent some time overhauling the background graphics for my turtle game trying to give it a more realistic and textured look. I also implemented Joe's paths feature for laying out the ocean to save on tile space. It's more blocky than I'd like, but I have to remember, this is the NES. :)

I still need to look into a better video grab utility. In the meantime, low-res it is! :)

LOL, that crab, I love it. Turtle should also hop into a beach chair and take it easy a bit before raccoon hunting.

Thanks for the kind words! Today, I spent more time fine-tuning the new background graphics giving the sand a more random and less pattern feel, and applying them to the existing levels I had already built. I also added Joe's music to the game to give it a more "complete" feel.

Finally, I added a cameo with good advice for our turtle hero. :)

LOL. They both need to be careful not to get stepped on with all the beach foot traffic! I really like that pool water too and especially the edge borders/rim.

Good call! :) In my mind, there will be no humans in this game. I think the influx of crabs and other nasties will have scared them off. The footprints are there to act as a subtle indicator of where the hero should go.
