Any Recommendations on What Code to Delete to Fit a HUD?

Like a lot of you, I've been following the Facebook launch video to make a test game. Everything's going fine for me, until I get to the HUD section. In the video, the developers basically go over the memory limit once they incorporate a HUD system that actually tracks the player's health visually. To solve this, they go into the code and start deleting things, but the resolution is a little too blurry for me to make out exactly what lines they're cutting. Does anyone have any recommendations for which lines or even whole sections to cut, or are we better off not even using a HUD until hopefully the adventure module fixes this?
