looking for tool to convert midi to nsf

I have close to 15 years working with midi. I use midi to compose music for 3 indie movies and one web series, and I would like to continue to use it as I move to making games. I haven't been able to find a program for windows 7 or higher that can convert midi to nsf. I would like to know if anyone would like to try and make a tool if none exist. NESmaker was just a concept until someone brought it into existence. There are many aspiring developers here who would love such a tool.

A very old version of Famitracker (0.4.2) could import midi files: http://famitracker.com/downloads.php

But the results are not very great, and require lots of manual tweaking. It's probably not very simple to do better, especially within NES Maker/GG Sound limitations instead of just Famitracker limitations. Famitracker does have midi keyboard support if that's why you prefer to work in midi. The author of famitracker talks about why he removed the import midi functionality in this post: http://famitracker.com/forum/posts.php?id=5124&pid=52697#52697

I think it'd be way faster for you to learn Famitracker than for a developer to tackle this problem in a way that doesn't require lots of extra work (either composing the .midi in a Famitracker friendly way, or fixing up the midi to play like it did before within famitracker itself).

Definitely with Kasumi on this one. You'll get far better (and faster) results if you learn how to use Famitracker from the ground up, especially when you have to account for NESmaker/GGsounds extra quirks and limitations.
