Nes assets maker saying hello

Hello everyone, i'm FrankenGraphics. I'm working with GUI stuff otherways but been into NES homebrewing for maybe 2 years now. Since i have quite a few projects where i'm doing the assets and others the code, and a few related jobs and commissions too, there's little time left for solo projects. Might be than one of those mothballed solo projects might be convertible to nesmaker, is my hope. Time will tell.

Examples of NES Graphics i've done.

Hi.
Very nice graphics, FrankenGraphics. I love your style.
I played the Project Blue demo, loved it (finished it).
Really looking forward what you will do with NesMaker ;)

Wow, and just think -- all that was done with the limitation of three colors per block. Those look like Genesis/Mega Drive screenshots, not NES. That parallax is impressive.

Obviously you know your Assembly, so you'll be a valuable member of this community!

These examples are amazing! Really excited to see what you come up with on NESmaker, and I'm going to check out your website. Hope to find homebrew roms of yours on there. I'd be more than happy to give them a nod on my fledgling youtube channel. Keep up the good work!

I'm actually awfully slow when writing assembly, that's why i've put most of my time into collaborations (+ 2 heads make more balanced design choises than one). But i can say as much: studying assembly and especially the PPU and how to interface with it helps a lot - you'll know exactly what you can and can't do.

Scroll split-based parallax is most conveniently done with a mapper PCB equipped with an IRQ timer (not something NesMaker supports). These parallax scenes are made for a more complex mapper. It can be done without, but with pretty strict limitations and sacrifices and would pretty much need the game code to be written around that feature instead of your actual design goals.

wow....if you help those are not good in graphics....you and I can team up and make good games for a good price or so and you'll be credited for the work!

Beautiful work FrankenGraphics, like you I prefer to collaborate as it seems you get a better more polished project. I do mostly graphics myself but not quite as well as you. :) I'm sure I will improve with practice.

FrankenGraphics, I was curious did you take try and play with NESMaker? What do you think about that, did you manage to make some screens?
There is a small learning curve, but you already are good with ASM and shiru's tools so might be more a "unlearn what you already learned" in order to start using NESMaker ;)
Anyway... I understand you do some teaching lessons / game design workshops... NESMaker could me a very interesting tool for kids. What do you think?

PS: did I already say how much I love your work? (I finished Blue Projects, when the demo was released. It's beautiful)
