Hud Palette Glitch on Odd X Column Screens

I have been experiencing a bizarre issue with my HUD where a rectangular section of the HUD uses the palette of the tiles placed behind it. I've got a workaround by simply using a test asset (that uses the HUD's correct palette) and filling the upper 2 rows of every screen with it fixing the issue. Does anyone know what's causing this? The fix is perfectly serviceable as is but it would be nice to have a cleaner solution.

It's a long standing bug with certain modules (typically scrolling based ones). You found the common workaround, to paint the HUD area with the appropriate palette.

It's a known bug. You need to "paint" over the HUD area on every screens... holding the "R" key of your keyboard (it will assign the 4th sub palette to that area).
