A lot of people here didn't watch the live streaming video Joe and Austin made for the launch of NESMaker.
And because it's not easy to find it on Facebook for them... here is the link to watch it again:
https://www.facebook.com/TheNew8bitHeroes/videos/2001403529870154/

I added it on YouTube:
https://youtu.be/9Z_hEa_KLAw

And don’t miss the new series of tutorials that started since:
Part 1: https://youtu.be/N31cfM2l0RA
Part 2: https://youtu.be/DestwmQ6588
...
(soon)

Thanks a lot for this. I still can't understand why they decided to limit the availability of the video to their Facebook clique, especially since it seems to have served as the official signal of NESmaker's launch. Furthermore, I don't recall reading "Facebook account" as part of the requirements for NESmaker. :p

Hopefully, Mr. Granato will shed light on this mystery...

They wanted to make a stream live video for the event... and they choose FB because why not. At that moment, they couldn't share the video...
It is planned to share on other platforms, but they didn't have enough time to do that, yet.

Don't worry, guys, a lot of tutorial videos will show up very soon on Youtube (and/or vimeo)

dale_coop "and they choose FB because why not."
hmm... actually, I'm asking the exact opposite : "Why Facebook?" Youtube can be seen by everyone, you can get notifications, you can make live videos, videos can appear in your suggestions (That's actually how I discovered NESmaker a few weeks ago!!!!) and... it's a video platform.

Not everyone has Facebook, actually fewer and fewer people do, as I heard. If their Facebook group is so important, I suggest linking Youtube videos there. Everybody wins.

I know, me too... I watch all the videos on youtube. I can't reply for Joe, I don't know why FB and not YT.
FB is a social network, better communication tool than Youtube. But agree, I would prefer it has been a Youtube live.
Anyway... The Youtube channel will be updated very soon, with this tutorial and all the great one Joe will make in a few hours/days ;)

I'm watching the video you uploaded right now... This is exactly what I wanted to be part of two days ago. I'm quite disappointed.

If you refer to my post in "General" called "NESmaker was officially launched! http://nesmakers.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=313 that I made right when the countdown reached 0, you'll see that I thought everybody was sleeping. I checked their official page, kickstarter page, my e-mail, and the forum... nothing. But now that I know there WAS actually something happening, I feel quite frustrated. A launch e-mail mentioning that there was a live stream on Facebook would have been the least they could do. Again, I'm flabbergasted at how this launch was managed.

I understand how disappointed you can be. I missed it too (because of time issue, here in France, it was during the night), so I watched it yesterday :p

I feel like they missed an opportunity there, keeping the launch stream secret like that.

Anyway, until we hear it from Mr. Granato himself, we won't know for sure.

By the way, I tried your game a while ago, it was cool! It bugged out on me all of a sudden though!

Yeah, we will get news from Joe soon :)
Thank you, I appreciate :)
Yeah it was more a prototype than a game... to show what the NESMaker beta was capable.
Spend some weeks, nights... I've never wrote ASM code before, so it was a very instructive experience. So at the end, it's quite buggy but I am still proud of it (my first NES game) ;)

Totally! Launch issues aside, this is the beginning of something big. I've learned as much ASM as my little brain could comprehend with https://skilldrick.github.io/easy6502/ , http://nintendoage.com/pub/faq/NA/index.html?load=nerdy_nights_out.html# and Mr. Granato's own 6502 4-part introduction (sorry, can't find the link). This is exciting stuff!

The contest idea this coming October is also a GREAT idea!

Mr. Granato's amazing but incomplete 4 intro NES programming videos can be found here https://vimeo.com/127556151
Thanks to darkhog for the info (http://nesmakers.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&p=1809#p1809)

Maaan.. Watching this video is making me more eager and excited to make games already. I cannot wait and I repeat, cannot wait to see what more this awesome software can do. Christ, I have a feeling that we are in for A-LOT from this thing. I have an old game I made with Game Maker recently but I feel I could redo it with this program. Please, please updating this great program. I am completely blown away by this.

Just to clear it up (sorry, can't talk long...at Game On in Phoenix and doing this via phone between talking to people at booth), the stream was entirely a last minute idea. Facebook has been the single most active hotbed for discussion about this project. That's been the case for about 3 months now. We decided literally an hour before the stream to do the stream - even asked if people would dig that, if you check the FB group. Plus, everyone who is a member of said group gets a notification when the feed goes live, unlike YouTube, which is why we thought it would capture the most people.

That's the reason, for what it's worth. More tutorials coming this week, when I get back from Phoenix. Thanks for the patience.

Thank you for your answer despite your busy schedule.

May I suggest you post new videos directly on Youtube, and post the links to your Facebook group? That way, everybody wins.

Also, I think the way to "capture the most people" would be to send an e-mail to everybody who bought your product, especially for announcements as important as its launch. On launch day, only people who were part of the Facebook group got notified about the live steam. That sounds quite limiting.

Lastly, please consider that not everyone has Facebook, nor everyone wants to create an account for it. I still think Youtube, at the very least for official videos, is the most logical choice. And apparently, I am not the only one.

Ah ah... same here (maybe I am too old for FB)
When I search for something... I can't find it again. Can't understand how it works. But to be informed, daily,... it's efficient!

360p, seriously? I've thought to give it a little time because maybe it didn't finished processing when first watched it. But no, apparently it's as high as it goes. This makes the vid unwatchable as the UI is blurry.
