getting back to idle...

don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but even after inserting the release/change to idle script, my character stays in his running state.

I set everything as should be in the animation states drop downs. ... I don't know what I'm doing...

Have you set up your character's action steps? You'll want to go into "Object Details", switch to the "Actions" tab, and set action step 0 to idle, and action step 1 to run/walk/whatever.

Maybe it's just the missing "RTS" in stopMovingPlayer scripts the problem...

I replaced the scripts with the ones uploaded in a recent thread here. I forgot who fixed them, (it's late and my brain is done ), but thanks!

finally got that working smoothly. .. i really don't like this whole not knowing asm thing, and I'm really gonna have to start hitting the books. it's awesome that there are people on here willing to tweak and share scripts, but dammit, I feel slightly useless at times !

MistSonata made those files, thanks again, it helps a lot of people here.

digit2600, if you want to learn ASM in the context of NESMaker, you can watch the very instructive videos on Joe's Vimeo channel: https://vimeo.com/joegranatoiv
