I'm trying to make a small simple NES game as a present for a friend. The base Nesmaker can do everything I need for the game except for one thing, changing the player sprite.
I would like to be able to change the player character to another sprite (both sprite sets would fit in the game object file). Idealy the sprite change (character selection) would be done either from the title menu or with a "character selection block" in game. But I'm open to other options as well
Does anybody here know enough about creating custom NESmaker scripts to make this possible? I don't have a lot of money but I would of course be happy to pay what I can for the effort.

I've not much help but I know that SuperMario3 had sprite change from icon consumption. SuperMario could change from Mario to Mario with a furry tail.
