Platformer ideas

Post by angelcrusher » Thu Feb 14, 2019 5:48 am

Hello NESMakers.

Nice to see all of the cool game ideas floating around. I'm working on some platformer ideas, using these tutorials and community scripts. It's been lots of fun.
I'm working on messing with the mechanics using Castlevania 1 graphics assets. Obviously not something I can call completely my own but new ideas can always come from it. Anyway I think it's neat to get Simon Belmont moving around using NESMaker. Heres him jumping around a single screen!

Always open to work with others but can't wait to see all the new stuff in store.

Welcome and great, for practice.
I would suggest to slightly modify/customize the graphics to be visually different than the original source.
With NESMaker you are supposed to use YOUR own original IP ;)

Thanks for the advice. I plan on putting all of my own graphics in once I can design the levels and character mechanics. I don't want them to be exactly like CV anything really but it's nice to have these reference screens and this classic NES platforming character to work with. kind of inspirational. I'll likely do way more than slight visual modifications
