sorry about that, the way i think it works is it sets as the new start point after you die another way around would be to use the platformer checkpoint, from what i can tell that one keeps track of lives, and i could fix you problem

If I am honest with myself about this project, it has been nothing but a uphill battle since the beginning. A constant struggle that's been sucking the joy from making this game. I don't blame the tool or anything, but it is very apparent, if you want to make even the most average of game, you're going to have to know some scripting, or be a quick learner regarding scripting. An while the community is very helpful, they have their own projects they are working on. I think I got involved at a weird time, only a couple of weeks before ByteOff and it's made the process probably far more difficult then it normally would be, as everyone wouldn't all be scrambling to get their projects finished. Been trying to wrap my head around coding for over a month and while that really is not all that long amount of time. I think I've made only baby steps worth of progress, if that. Anyhow, I am going to complete my third level, make a few tweaks and prep for submission. Then maybe a short break, at this rate I fear I'd end up hating this tool and I don't really want that. Anyhow, a somber update, but a update nonetheless.

Looks nice.
That'll be game development and why people abandon promising games they've been working on. My first game was only supposed to take 6 months to make, it took me 4 years.
You appear to have done quite a bit in under a month, even my small games take a month to make and that's with working on them 9-5.

I appreciate those kind words Ultranorwhal and Logana. I think I'm just really frustrated that I am having so many difficulties learning the coding. Makes game design maddening.

No problem I understand the struggle with that I only know about one line of code for sfx and I still have some trouble with it

Also I agree that you made some insane progress in a month I didn’t even have a fully functioning demo of a first game by then

We are coming up on the last week before the ByteOff deadline. I am definitely going to be crunching to finish up the third stage and try to iron a few bugs out. An while I don't have high expectations winning-wise, as just about anyone who has a grasp on coding would have it in the bag. I am proud of what I accomplished in a month with the little I knew to begin with. Some good stuff. Anyhow, more updates can be found on the 1st page.
