How do i get ahold of a copy of famitracker, or is there a better program to use? The website says its suspended and every other site says to use famitracker.

Famitracker works best with NESMaker.
Don't know how many viruses you will get but there is plenty of Famitracker downloads available on the other sites. Just Google Famitracker download and choose the one you trust the most.
Or wait for the official site to go up again. That might be safer option.

Dn-FamiTracker is the recommended fork nowadays. As long as you stick to the vanilla feature set and the GGSound limitations, the text exports will work fine.
I've been using it for most of my GGSound work and I haven't encountered any issues caused by Dn-FT itself.
