How did you do the water effect...? cycling palette? animated tiles?

So not incredible code behind unfortunately, just visual trickery for fake hud :D
Yes... Many features are just eyes trickery, like in many famous games actually.
But it works great... so who cares?! ;)

It is just palette cycling. I made several presets of palette cycling. I have actually made rules on screenflags to set 3 colors cycling OR 2-color cycling, on different palettes.
So on the same screen I can have a water fall (with 3colors cycling), and flower movement (2color cycling).
In addition, according to the screentypes, it changes the collision behavior of tiles, (to not being stuck with only 16 collision type).
