I wanted to thank everyone that posted comments and sent feedback through messages. I have already made several improvements based on the feedback give so far, so please keep it coming!
Changes made over the last few days:

- sub boss room adjustments made for better clarity and exiting the screen
- altered the weeds by redrawing elements, animating the weeds and changing color so they stand out/look more threatening
- changed the presentation of secret areas so passages out would be far easier to read
- added additional loot in secret passages to reward the exploration
- lowered hit point value for jumping "cave dweller" to lower the difficulty in the dark cave area

Ladders can be quiet difficult at times, I am hoping to find a solution so the player can locked onto them and does not animate unless up or down is pushed.
More to come, I will be posting a play through at some point soon after I have gotten a bit more feedback.

A couple of quick updates:
Ladders are fixed (thanks Dale!)
You can now travel down a ladder without falling! It makes it far easier moving vertically from screen to screen!


And I wanted to share the weeds, its a little thing, but way more interesting now!

I will be updating the version that is there in a matter of days that contains the ladder code fix and will let everyone know when its up.

I am still looking for feedback on the later areas (temple, dark cave, cemetery at sunset) so if anyone has any feedback for those areas, please let me know!

Ah, that's weed! I thought it were flames. The newly added animation are nice addition. I remember getting hurt by them, because I didn't realize they were enemies ^^
I think it's clearer now.

Thank you DIrk and glad to hear you played through, I will love to get your feedback when you get time. And It does look a bit like fire, hopefully looks enough like an evil weed now!
I could always add an drawing to the booklet to call it out as a weed.
